WONDERTURNER

Wonderturner.
Turning marvel is a toy that was popular in Victorian times.
It consists of a disk or card with a picture on each side attached to two pieces of string when the strings are twirled quickly between the fingers.
Both pieces appear to combine into a single image due to persistence of vision.

These were the first optical toys, simple devices that continued to provide animated entertainment until the development of modern cinema.
Required materials:
Paper
Pencil and eraser
Scissors
Strings
White cardboard

ST. PATRICK'S DAY

We are celebrating St. Patrick's this year for our students to get to know more about this typical Irish celebration which is also celebrated for Irish communities worldwide.

FATHER'S DAY

HAPPY FATHER'S DAY!!!
This week we celebrated all of our fathers! Both the first and second grade drew and colored beautiful portraits of their father's to present on March 19th after school. By coloring the words the best describe each father, the students learned new vocabulary and had fun thinking about the different qualities that each of our fathers have.

Thinking hard!
Presenting her beautiful portrait!
The always smiling Sofia!
Our students are hard at work!

Here is a nice video showing all the things our fathers do for us! We thank you for all that you do for us! We love you!

FINGER RHYMES

Pat-a-cake

Pat-a -cake
pat-a -cake
baker´s man.
Bake me a cake
as fast as you can.
Pat it ,
roll it,
Draw it with a B.
Put it in the oven
for baby and me.

This popular British finger rhyme is enjoyable and the children get involved from the very first moments.

We acted it out in pairs, clapping double high fives with the partners and singing it along at the same time.

It developes self-consciousness, reinforce psychomotricity, their emotional world
and empathy among peers.

Five currant buns in a baker´s shop
Five currant buns in a baker´s shop
Round and fat with a cherry on the top.
Along came a boy/girl with a penny one day.
Bought a currant bun and took it away.

Four currant buns in a baker´s shop.
Round and fat with a cherry on the top.
Along came a girl/boy with a penny one day.
Bought a currant bun and took it away.
And so on...

I hope your children have plenty of entertainment watching and acting out these gorgeous songs.

I´m a little teapot

I´m a little teapot
Short and stout.
Here´s my handle.
Here´s my spout.

When I get all steamed up
I just shout.
Tip me over
and pour me out.

I´m a very special pot.
It is true.
Here´s an example
 of what I can do.
I can turn my handle
 into a spout.

Tip me over
and pour me out.

Act this catchy song out !

This little pig went to market
This little pig went to market,
This little pig stayed at home,
This little pig had roast beef,
This little pig had none,
And this little pig cied :
Wee-wee-wee,
I can't find my way home.

ST PATRICK'S DAY CELEBRATION

Time is going by really fast. We're already in March, so close to spring.
Along this awesome month we 've got many things to celebrate.
First  of all let us get involved in St Patrick's Day.

St Patrick's Day heralds the spring- everything about it is so optimistic with colourful rainbows, pots of gold, mischievous fairies and a lot of emerald green-

Let´s have a look at what the first garde students did along these weeks to join the spring feast.
How cute does Fidel's leprechaun look !
Carmen looks very smart wearing the emerald hat !
Iria is showing you a clover !
María is quite proud of her task !

Our second grade kids have celebrated this "craic"festival drawing a face on the Leprehaun.
Which are being hung up later. They look so stunning in the main corridor.

Wishing you have plenty of pleasure watching these cartoons!

8th MARCH

To commemorate the 8th March this year our 5th grade students have prepared some designs related to women's rights regarding  jobs and professions. We have shown all these artworks at one of the school corridors.

All the designs have participated in a contest organized by the Town Hall together with the designs of the students from all the schools of this area. The prizes have been given in a function organized to celebrate this day where our pupils have also had an active part since they have danced, sang and presented it.
Some students from our school have received prizes and special mentions for their works of art.
